The world cup fever is on! =] I just hope Spain makes it to at least the semis. I have never really paid much interest to soccer all these years. But I feel like an ardent fan now. Maybe this sudden liking was triggered by vj's victory. Hmm.

By the way, I cannot quite fathom why some people tie in soccer with machismo. I refer to the article in the Sunday newspaper - 'Spare us guys your shrieks'. I think there were a hundred and one sweeping statements in that obviously gender-biased article. According to the author only 5% of the women who watch soccer actually know what they're watching. 70% know nothing and cannot tell Michael Owen from Owen Wilson. Hah. Right. Okay, perhaps there are people like these out there, but 70% is a little over the hedge. I'm sure many will concede to that. If men can be shopping addicts, women can by all means be soccer fans!

Anyway, I miss Japan!
